You don't need to have all of these symptoms to warrant an evaluation. Even a few that significantly impact daily life are enough reason to seek an assessment.
What the evaluation involves

Your provider gathers a full picture — symptom history, developmental background, school and work history, family history, and any prior evaluations.

Standardised behavioural and symptom rating scales are completed by you and, where relevant, a parent, partner, or teacher to capture cross-setting patterns.
- 3Cognitive assessment
When indicated, targeted cognitive testing assesses attention, processing speed, and executive function to support or rule out ADHD.
- 4Feedback & plan
Your provider explains the results clearly, provides a diagnosis or differential, and collaborates with you on a personalised treatment plan.

Common questions about ADHD evaluation
We evaluate children, adolescents, and adults. There is no age limit for an ADHD assessment. Many adults come to us having struggled undiagnosed for years — especially women and those with primarily inattentive presentations who were missed in childhood.
Our comprehensive evaluation includes a clinical interview (covering developmental, medical, family, and social history), behaviour and symptom rating scales, and in some cases cognitive testing. We review any prior records, report cards, or previous assessments where available.
A comprehensive ADHD evaluation typically takes 60–90 minutes for the clinical interview and rating scales. If additional cognitive testing is needed, this may require a second appointment or extended session.
Your provider will explain the findings, discuss the diagnosis (or rule it out), and present treatment options. If ADHD is confirmed, we develop a personalised management plan — which may include medication, behavioural strategies, therapy, or a combination.
No. While medication (stimulants or non-stimulants) can be highly effective for ADHD, many patients benefit from therapy, coaching, and lifestyle modifications alone or in combination with medication. We'll work with you to find the right approach.
Yes. Following a confirmed ADHD diagnosis, we can provide documentation to support requests for academic accommodations (extended test time, etc.) or workplace adjustments. This typically requires a completed evaluation and follow-up consultation.
