Accessibility Statement
What we do to keep this site usable for everyone, the tools available to you, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
Our commitment
Healing Horizons Psychiatry is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive disabilities. Mental health care should be easy to reach, and that starts with being able to use the website that leads to it.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We review the site as we make changes and treat accessibility problems as bugs to be fixed, not optional extras.
Accessibility tools built into this site
Every page has an accessibility button — the wheelchair icon pinned to the right-hand edge of your screen. Opening it gives you these controls:
- Text size (A− / A+) — step the text on every page between 90% and 150% of its normal size.
- Readable font — switches to a wider, plainer typeface with extra letter and word spacing.
- Large cursor — a bigger, higher-contrast mouse pointer that is easier to follow.
- Pause animations — stops fades, movement, and scrolling effects across the site.
Your choices are saved in your own browser, so they stay applied as you move between pages and when you come back later. They are stored only on your device and never sent to us.
Accessibility features throughout the site
Beyond the toolbar, we have built the site so that:
- Every page can be navigated using only a keyboard, with a visible focus outline showing where you are
- Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text for screen readers
- Pop-ups and dialogs can be closed with the Escape key and announce themselves to assistive technology
- Headings follow a logical order so screen reader users can skim the structure of a page
- Form fields have proper labels, and errors are announced rather than shown only by colour
- Text and background colours are chosen to meet contrast requirements
- Layouts reflow for small screens and for high zoom levels without content being cut off
Known limitations
We are honest about the parts we are still working on:
- Some third-party content — including our online payment portal at yourhealthbill.com and embedded maps and social media feeds — is controlled by other organisations, and we cannot guarantee its accessibility. We can always complete these tasks with you over the phone instead.
- Insurance company logos are shown as images; the insurer's name is available to screen readers, and our team will read the full list to you on request.
If you hit any barrier — on these or anything else — please tell us. We will help you get what you need straight away and fix the underlying problem.

- Book, reschedule, or cancel an appointment
- Verify your insurance benefits and understand your costs
- Pay a bill or set up a payment plan
